Assistant/associate Content Editor

The candidate MUST HAVE editorial experience of having worked in a newsroom environment; preferably handled Breaking News events as part of the job
Should have strong news sense and be able to prioritize and respond to changing news requirements
Must be great with photos and should have the knack of telling a compelling story with images
Ability of adapt to different formats of storytelling depending on the nature of the story like slideshows, photo articles, video articles, listicles & quizzes
Should have strong writing skills and must have good verbal communication skills
Should be able to contribute actively with ideas/pitches during News/Editorial meetings
Must have some experience of working with Photoshop (We are looking at basic knowledge and not advanced skills)
Should be able to prioritize work, deal with deadlines and manage day to day workflow
Able to lead and coordinate operations with US/UK based planners and ensure deadlines are met
Should be able to deliver content that is factually correct, grammatically accurate with stunning in the choice of images
Should be a stickler for QUALITY and must have an eye for details

Key responsibilities include:
Find beautiful images and curate topical slideshows
Work with our photo agencies to surface the latest and best photos
Grow a network of external sources to acquire photos that our agencies dont have Co-ordinate with photo editors and planners to avoid duplication
Inform international markets of content coming down the pipeline
Build slideshows in response to breaking or developing global news stories
Curate slideshows for live events, as may be needed
Gather KPI reports, share insights, seek feedback and develop best practice
