Job Title: Trade Support Group- Listed Derivatives

Since 2007 Morgan Stanley has been expanding its own fully-owned premier investment banking and sales & trading platform in India, providing a full range of investment banking, sales & trading, equity, fixed income, commodities and derivative products, as well as research services. Building on this existing platform in India, we are investing in building an ISG Client Operations group that will continue to recognize and match the global need of our clients.
Morgan Stanley transacts exchange-traded derivatives contracts globally, with trading locations in Europe, North America and Asia. Listed Derivatives Reconciliations team supports three regions, with the main teams located in Baltimore, Glasgow, India, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore.
Morgan Stanley is seeking a Director (AVP) in Listed Derivatives reconciliations managing the EMEA and NY exchanges with a future expanded role into OTC Clearing reconciliations. With the ongoing technology strategy in order to provide a scalable automated processing model, the Recs team is looking for a candidate with experience into process operations and projects & control specialist.
Timings: Asia hours (Willingness and Flexibility to change in timings as per business requirement is essential )
The primarily function within the team is the completion of daily tasks, including (but not limited to):
Be a change agent and drive the direction of the group strategically by improving the efficiency and control aspects of Clearing, Reconciliation and Control functions
Proactively explore solutions to close control gaps and ensure adherence to existing control framework; regular review and understanding of procedures, checklists and reports to ensure they are accurate and current
Contribute to Global functional business plans as well as successfully execute on the local business agenda.
Set direction for the team, create culture of control and set expectations for team members
Establish broader networks to foster co-operation and build consensus in order to achieve business results.
Ensure the completion and delivery of all trade, position and cash intercompany and exchange reconciliations on a timely basis to minimize the risk exposure to the firm and its clients
Additional supervisory oversight to ensure accurate position management and enhance controls to avoid any impact to regulatory reporting, self-assessment of process gaps and manual touch points.
Champion the operational changes required to implement processes to satisfy Local and Global regulatory changes including EMIR, Dodd Frank & MiFID II regulations
Partner closely with Technology, Risk and Change Management teams; building and maintaining these relationships are critical to the success of this role
Collaboration with Technology, Client Money, Compliance, Risk teams.
Data gathering and business analysis.
Testing in QA providing evidences and various test scenarios.
Experience in financial services / Investment Banking. Listed Derivatives clearing business knowledge are preferred.
Basic understanding of Derivative Instruments (Options/Futures/Forwards etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight time deadlines with accuracy.
Ability to work individually and within a team.
Pays attention to detail demonstrates excellent attention to detail when analyzing or interpreting data.
Good Learning and grasping skills.
Previous experience into trade support roles with exposure to trade life cycles, process flows and reconciliation and risk and control functions will be preferred.
Demonstrates awareness of control and Risk requirements through proven track record.
Demonstrates willingness to take ownership of roles and responsibilities.
Highly committed and self-motivated.
Proactive in identifying process gaps and improvements.
Team player skills – to balance and prioritize between day-to-day activities; Works effectively in teams and broader networks to deliver results.
