Job Description

The candidate would report to the managing editor. The job Entails two major functions

1. Editorial Copy-edits, proofs and prepares for publication, approx. 12 original titles a year Provides development inputs both structurally and content-wise to enhance authors draft Liases with allied departments to ensure smooth workflow Liases with freelance editors/proofreaders in an efficient and timely manner Checks for quality both in freelancers and within the team Responsible for creating and checking all Marketing material while ensuring quality and timeliness Checks all blurbs both front and backlist for quality Checks all covers to ensure zero-error

2. Managerial: Be a team player and manage the team Help achieve publishing targets by managing team schedule Provide support by troubleshooting Assist the HOD in other departmental matters as required Proactively ensure smooth workflow within the department Soft Skills

Effective multitasking Team player High on negotiation and communication skills Resolution-oriented approach to problems Good in documentation and follow-ups Adaptable and intelligent learner Ability to handle high pressure Self-motivated and able to motivate others Proactively help in achieving departmental targets (A degree/Diploma in Publishing or languages may be advantageous. An excellent command and understanding of the English language is essential.)

Salary: 8,00,000 – 10,00,000 P.A.
