Job Description / Technical skills required:
*In-Depth knowledge of BMC ADDM (Atrium Discovery and Data Mapping).
*Responsible to design and review the ADDM infrastructure.
*End to end implementation of ADDM Appliance versions – 8.x, 9..x, and 10.x for clients Infrastructure.
*Knowledge of Upgrading and Migrating the BMC ADDM appliances, from both UI and CLI.
*Knowledge of applying TKUs and EODs into ADDM appliances.
*Expert level knowledge about CI mapping and CMDB reconciliation.
*Knowledge of Windows Proxy, Active Directories.
*Backup and Restore management of ADDM.
*Knowledge of CAM and TPL.
*Integrating ADDM with CMDB for data sync.
*Scheduling Discovery runs. Excluding Ips from discovery.
*Setting up Windows Proxy with ADDM for Discovery.
*Configuring Credentials for Unix, windows, ESXi, Vcenter, Vsphere, snmp etc.
*Knowledge of Reporting – Executing the BMC ADDM License audit reports etc…
*Creating Users, groups, setting up permissions.
*Hands on various “tw” commands.
*Restarting the ADDM services through UI and CLI.
*Seizing device captures for CIs, logs of ADDM.
*Creating Visualization for CIs in ADDM including network topologies and neighbors.
*Troubleshoot weekly discovery failures Password issues, WMI failures, connectivity problems.
*Build basic and advance queries to customize enhance reporting
*High level troubleshooting on CIs Not being discovered thru ADDM, No Responses, Skipped and No Access ones.
*High level troubleshooting between ADDM-CMDB connectivity, Network Packet captures, TCP\IP connections.
*Setting up NTP, Name servers, DNS into ADDM.
*Applying Device filters for hosts, network devices etc…
*Knowledge on capturing VM ware snapshots, removing the snapshot is an advantage.
*Accessing the Vcenter\Vsphere clients is an advantage.
*Should have basic knowledge of Windows, Unix OS. And their commands.
*Raising cases with Vendor to resolve unknown issues, raising RFEs for Not supported CIs by ADDM to include into TKUs.
*Knowledge of networking commands is must.
*Knowledge of CMDB side – Reconciliation, Normalizations, Product Catalog, datasets etc.
*Knowledge of ITIL concepts and handling Incidents, Changes in ITSM.
*Good communication skills, client handling calls.
Ready to work in 24*5 shifts plus weekend On call once in a while
